Once we arrived, parked, and got Carly settled into her stroller we did a quick loop of the area since we were a few minutes early. During our loop Carly pointed out the horses and regularly gave out a "neigh." Her excitement led me to the horse carriage line. After waiting for about 30 minutes in line, we finally had a reservation for 30 minutes later. We used these moments to get some freshly popped popcorn and to watch the horses some more. During our carriage ride Carly looked at all of the lights around the town, mimicked the rhythm of the horse's steps, and waved to on lookers in the street.
Following the carriage ride we went to view the live nativity scene. Carly got a nativity scene designed for preschoolers earlier this week and has really enjoyed placing Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, and the Angel in the scene. Tonight I made sure to point out all four characters to Carly. She nodded in agreement that she could see them; however, I'm unfortunately not sure due to the crowd.
Our final adventure of the evening was for pizza. Davidson has a local chain pizza restaurant that we tried to eat at. Unfortunately, the line was very long so we left and drove to another local pizza restaurant a little closer to home. After some nice warm food, Carly got ready for bed and fell asleep without any fuss... only about 2 hours later than usual. Oops!
